Complaint filed against Sultan Masjid Imam for instigating violence
Karachi citizens at Darakshan Police Station supporting the complaint for inciting violence
KARACHI: Today at around 1 pm, a large group of citizens of Karachi went to the Darakhshan Police Station to lodge a complaint against Sultan Mosque cleric Munir Ahmed Shakir for provoking people’s sentiments and inciting violence during his Friday sermon.
The complainants are barrister/journalist Ali K Chishti, joined by PPP MNA Sherry Rehman and the murdered Governor Salmaan Taseer’s son Shaan Taseer.
The police were cooperative and polite. They said that their plainclothes personnel do regularly monitor the mosques for hate speech etc. and that they will investigate the matter seriously and file a proper FIR within a few days. They said that the last time someone had filed a complaint against a cleric at that station was some years ago.
Ali Chishti, who initiated the complaint, said that even if nothing came of the complaint, it was symbolic in nature. “We have to get the message across that those who go around declaring others non-Muslims, or instigating violence, will not get away with it. There will be legal action taken against them”.

It was my duty to inform & put into notice that my Wife Ayesha D/o of KHALID VOHRA has gone to Pakistan-from Delhi dt 23 Dec 2010 by bus to Lahore-to-Karachi,t o meet my in-law KHALID VHORA who was doing business in Kanpur Global Cargo he has faced business loss & looted several people in shipping Industry & quietly shifted to Karachi he is also wanted by UP POLICE.
Now my wife is not coming & blackmails me that she will not give my Son MD UMAR YOUSUF AGE 6 years.
I request you to kindly forward this Complaint to Pakistan High commission in ISLAMABAD & Karachi.
I have already forwarded all doc to Head of Pakistan consulate in Delhi India & commissioner of police Chennai & Delhi UP.
My wife younger sister is staying in Kanpur civil line Gokul app India with his husband Akbar Vohra 09336113752.
So as per responsible citizen of India I have informed & I request you also to forward my complaint to Pakistan consulate t o depot my son & wife & in-laws back to India that it should be a lesson to them who spoil our country & religion name.

I endorse and fully support the action taken against the hate-monger mullah though it is likely to prove only a symbolic one showing our sincerity against violence.
Nothing will happen against the cleric. NO FIR, NO SUO MOTO NOTICE, NO ACTION WHATSOEVER. Wait and see.

Guys while you are at it – get hafiz saeed as well – he also incites violence and gives hate speech.
we should proceed to concerned area Judicial Magistrate for filing of private complaint under section 200 of Criminal Procedure Code.
I fully agree with K Khan. I also fail to understand, why police need time. I request Ali Chisti and other friends to press the police to register formal FIR (on the proforma) against the Mullah, who is already notorious of spreading hate speeches. I personally know that he has been delivering venomous speeches against all sects particularly against Shias and Brelevi sects. Once I went to offer Juma prayers, he used very filthy language against other sects and he was very pro-Taliban in his Juma sermons. But the unfortunate things is that every mosque in this city, particularly in posh localities these times of Mullahs have full control.

FIR has to be cut, or there will be no action taken and this whole effort will have been meaningless…hope it is done so…this looks like stone walling and surprised that a barrister would fall for it…why do the police need a few days to cut an FIR…it is something that can easily be done on the spot against a complaint recording the complainants’ grievance
sowing prejudice and hatred will yield more of the same only…
in the holy book, that gets quoted so spuriously by the clerics to incite violence, it stresses on equality and justice countless times!
