Revolution?

February 23, 2011

Those calling for a ‘revolution’ in Pakistan to get rid of the elected government might consider that the reason Pakistan has been unable to move forward is that the political process is never allowed to continue. The mandate given to the elected government by millions of Pakistanis should be respected and the supremacy of ballot over bullet ensured. People tolerate military regimes for a decade or more, but become impatient with an elected government within months and don’t want to give it five years to complete its term and let the next be duly elected.

Note: CFD works for a one-point agenda – stop the use of religion as a political tool.
